THE .SI FIELD GUIDE

.si domain expiration & quarantine

Learn what happens when a .si domain expires, how the 30-day quarantine works, and when to ask your registrar about recovery.

Reviewed: Editorial research by SIDomainChecker

Register.si describes a 30-day quarantine for expired .si names. Ask your registrar about recovery immediately; expiration is not proof that a name is free to register.

Expiration is not availability

A date in a registration record is an event field, not a purchase offer. Pending deletion, quarantine, renewal or registry restrictions can prevent registration. Query the exact .si domain and preserve the status returned at the time of the check.

Recover through the serving registrar

Use your registrar’s account recovery or renewal process. Have the domain name, account details and invoice information ready. Keep the contact address current and do not rely on emails hosted on the expired domain as your only recovery channel.

Avoid a repeat

Add a second reminder, check the payment method and verify auto-renew settings after every transfer. For a business-critical .si domain, record who owns the account and who is responsible for renewals.
